    Birchfield Educational Trust Limited which manages Birchfield School is both a registered charity and also a registered company and as such is subject to stringent regulations in its management and financial affairs.  The Trust is a company limited by guarantee and is thus not owned by any individual or group and is managed by the Trustees.
    Mr A G Frankling, Acting Chair

    Adam is the Commercial Director of Promontory, a business consultancy that works with leading brands to improve business culture and people performance. Prior to this, he held several  sales and marketing roles across 20 years, nearly 9 of which were with the world’s largest construction company. He was a pupil at Birchfield from 1983 up to Godfrey Hall’s last year as Headmaster in 1990, before continuing his education at Wolverhampton Grammar School. He went on to achieve a 2:1 (Hons) degree in Business and Management Studies from the University of Bradford’s School of Management before gaining his Chartered Institute of Marketing Professional Postgraduate Diploma. Adam became a Governor in May 2010 and his passion for Birchfield is as strong as ever. 
    Mr S Legge

    Stewart lives in Bridgnorth and is married to Julia with two grown up children. Stewart’s son is Birchfield’s only 3rd generation boy (1999-2009) to date. Stewart attended Birchfield between 1972-1977 and then went onto Wrekin College. He swam for Shropshire until the age of 18 and has played Midlands Veteran’s Hockey. Stewart works in the IT industry and has worked for organisations such as IBM and Oracle in roles with responsibility for significant revenue streams. He was previously Chair of the Friends of Birchfield and raised funds to deliver projects such as the hall staging and the Tiger Turf. Stewart has been a Governor for 8 years and has an absolute passion for Birchfield. 
    Mr J Parkhouse

    James was educated at Aberdour School and Epsom College before reading politics and economics at Cardiff university. James has created and led one of the UK’s largest business travel, meetings and events companies over the past ten years. After relocating from Mumbai to Shropshire in 2009, his twin boys started in Prepcare nursery and progressed through into Birchfield School. James has governing responsibility for Health & Safety at Birchfield.

     

    Mr P Reynolds

     

    Paul is an English and French graduate of Portsmouth and Strasbourg universities. Paul’s extensive experience in teaching and education took him from Kelly College in Devon where he was Director of the Lower School and onwards to become a Housemaster at Sedbergh School, Cumbria and then the first Headmaster of Sedbergh Junior School. Since taking retirement Paul has remained in demand and has undertaken two interim Headships at  day and boarding schools in Shropshire. A family man, he enjoys all sports, especially cricket and rugby and is a keen skier and choral singer.
    Mr J Squire

    John was educated at Yarlet, Rugby School and Durham University where he achieved a BA Hons degree in Economics and Economic History and played for the UAU winning rugby XV in 1987 at Twickenham; a team that included ex England captain Will Carling. Following Durham John worked for six years in marketing in blue chip PLC companies before moving back to run his eighth generation 237 year old family business, Squire Locks.  John lives in Shropshire with his wife and two sons, the eldest boarding at Wrekin College and youngest, who was a Birchfield pupil, who is boarding at Repton School.  
    Mrs L Statham

    Lynne gained a Teaching Certificate at St Matthias Teacher Training College in Bristol specializing in Biology, Maths and Education. Following 2 years teaching in Edinburgh she moved south first to Dorset and then Somerset where she taught within the age range 3-8 years. Whilst in Somerset she also worked with children with specific learning difficulties and gained a diploma in Dyslexia.  Her final position was at Hazlegrove, an independent school near Yeovil where she taught for 30 years spending the last 10 years as Head of Pre-Prep. Lynne became a Governor at Birchfield in 2006 with specific responsibility for the Pre-Prep and the EYFS.
