Cricket is a leading sport at Birchfield and is played by both boys and girls, separately and together in mixed teams. In the recent past, the school’s sporting success in cricket has been outstanding on both a local and regional level.

The School has twice won Cricket County Cup tournaments beating schools from all over Shropshire at U12 and U13 level. At U11 level Birchfield were the inaugural Midlands Girls’ Cricket champions and our U9 and U10 teams were also unbeaten in the previous Summer Term.

We play mixed cricket throughout the school with a large number of children attending local cricket clubs and representing Shropshire and Staffordshire. Shropshire Cricket also use our outstanding facilities for District and County matches with many of our children playing in these teams.
